How we use your data
This notice explains what data we use, why, how long it remains, and which controls you have.

Firebase identity, display name, language and timezone; shares you add; approximate location; discovery choices; connection states; private messages; any legacy encrypted contact preference; safety reports; and technical security records.
We use data for authentication, matching, distance, mutual consent, abuse prevention, and reliability. Needs are not in the public catalog; exact coordinates and contact details are not on public profiles.
Infrastructure runs on Google Firebase and Google Cloud; sign-in uses your chosen Google or Apple provider. A global service may process data in provider regions. We do not sell data, and advertising is currently disabled.
Active account data remains while the service is used. Session and rate-limit records expire. Closed accounts become inaccessible immediately and personal links are removed; safety, appeal, and legal records remain for at most 24 months, then are erased or anonymized. Backups rotate within 7 days.
From Account, download JSON data, remove location, manage blocked people, and delete your account. For an inaccessible account or privacy request, use Support.
Direct client access to Firestore is denied; message access is limited on the server to connection participants. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Choose Safety or Privacy in Support for an incident.
